Casa Mila - Espai Gaudi
To view one of Gaudi´s masterpieces you should go to Casa Mila. Now a Culture Centre, this building defines Gaudi's genius. Upon entering the gallery you see that no walls are straight and a recollection of that period displays the marine-life themes. Reaching the 4th floor The Pis de la Pedrera which was not a Gaudi design but constructed in the first years of the 20th Century. The preceeding rooms hold furniture, art and antique toys from famed designers : Gaspar Homar, Modest Urgell and Ramon Casas. Put all together and you can enjoy that period in time as people carried on their everyday life. The Espai Gaudi itself was the official area to dry your wet laundry. It's here you can appreciate architecture at its best and see through various modems the genius in the building process. This year 2002, La Pedrera is proclaiming it to be International Gaundi Year.This beautiful center holds exhibits here that attract world wide attention.
